The Board of Commissioners for Jefferson County Parks and Recreation District No, 2, wish to announce that they are accepting applications for Commissioner, Position No. 5. The application period ends at our regular meeting on Wednesday, March 14th, 2018, 6:30 pm, Brinnon Community Center. At that time, the Board will evaluate and interview all candidates and appoint those most qualified. Candidates must be registered voters in Voting Precinct No. 204 (the Brinnon area). Candidates may attend the February 28th Working Level meeting or the March 14th regular scheduled meeting where applications can be made in person. Applications will also be accepted by mailed to: Parks and Recreation District No. 2, P.O. Box 643, Brinnon, WA 98320. We ask that interested parties provide a brief introduction and reasons for seeking the commissioner position. The Board would like to remind the community that our Parks and Rec. District is an important asset for our community. Without it, the Brinnon area will likely be included in the County’s request to institute a county wide park district which will likely send our property taxes to projects outside our area. With our local Parks and Rec. District our plan for the summer is to collaborate with the Pleasant Harbor Marina to provide swimming lessons and other recreational activities to the children of the Brinnon School. To succeed we need community participation and commitment. The Board welcomes community participation at our meetings which are normally held the second and fourth Wednesday of each month. At the next meeting on February 28th we will include a discussion about the recreational activities and events proposed for the future. Questions about this press release can be directed either to our website at info@brinnonparksandrec.org or by phone at 360-796-7002. Sincerely, Board of Commissioners, Parks and Rec. District No. 2 |
