Jefferson County Parks and Recreation District No. 2

Aka. Brinnon Parks and Recreation District

Announces Vacancies

The Board of Commissioners for Jefferson County Parks and Recreation District No. 2 aka Brinnon Parks and Recreation District, are accepting letters of interest for Commissioner, Position No. 1 and 3. Letters of interest will be accepted until the position is filled. Letters of interest that are received by the end of the month will be reviewed at the next regular or special meeting. At that time, the Board will review letters of interest, interview candidates and consider making an appointment.

Candidates must be registered voters in Voting Precinct No. 204 (the Brinnon area). Letters of interest will be accepted by mail to: Brinnon Parks and Recreation District, P.O. Box 643, Brinnon, WA 98320 or emailed to bgraham@brinnonparksandrec.org. We ask that interested parties provide a brief introduction and reasons for seeking the commissioner position.

The Board would like to remind the community that our District is an important asset for the Brinnon area: accomplishments include: a collaboration with Emerald Towns Alliance and community volunteers to host ShrimpFest; a collaboration with the Pleasant Harbor Marina to provide community swim days, and other recreational activities for the children of the Brinnon area. For the remainder of the year we plan to sponsor an introduction to kayaking for the children of Brinnon, a collaboration with Hood Canal Adventures, and the second annual Art and Wine Event. To succeed we need community participation and commitment.

If you are interested, please visit our website brinnonparksandrec.org or our Facebook page Brinnon Parks and Recreation and contact one of the Commissioners to learn more about what we do.

The Board welcomes community participation at our meetings which are normally held the second Wednesday of each month. At the next meeting on June 12, we will debrief ShrimpFest followed by the regular meeting. Questions about this press release can be directed either to our website at bgraham@brinnonparksandrec.org or by phone at 360-796-7002.

Sincerely,

Brinnon Parks and Recreation District Commissioners
